Clutch locating pins: did I mess up? '89 S4
in the process of pulling the single disc clutch on the S4, and I drove-out all 3 locating pins in the flywheel to allow the clutch cover to drop down. The WSM (referenced afterwards....) tells you to fully drive-out the large diameter pin, and partially drive-back the 2 smaller pins. Too late, their out. This shouldn't cause any issues, correct?
Also, the WSM indicates that you remove the crank position sensor prior to removing the clutch. Is it located atop the bell housing and accessed from beneath the air box?
thanks,
Bob

Actually in lieu of beating on the flywheel pins.
add the spacers to the pressure plate.
remove the 2 bolts for the trans to cross member mounts,
then the loosen the 4 bell housing bolts about 7 turns,
and slide the trans/TT bell housing back,
Remove the PP bolts
then the clutch will come out without pin removal,
or crank position sensor removal
Beating on the pins isnt good for the thrust bearing
