Really nice sketches! Interested in what you are up to with the instrument cluster.

I'm not really into your mods. But, that's just my opinion.

What I do LOVE, is your sketches!! I'm soooo impressed with them! They are awesome!! Are you a professional artist?

I went straight to 14:13 and watched several times but still found no answer.

I'll bet is or once was- my MIL was a CA and did thumbnails like that for catalogs (she was also a noted comic strip artist). That's definitely a pro at work. Love it.

I think the concept is great. I'm looking forward to what you come up with.

I have a silver '84S that I'm gathering pieces and parts for a similar idea. I always thought the silver car over red interior was a very classic early racing combination, like the Blue/white you are doing. And no one here will miss my burgundy interior when I replace it...

I won't hijack your thread w/ my build ideas, but I really like your plans. I think there is so much potential to step away from the stock 928 look and build something unique based on other Porsche models/designs.

Good luck with the build!

I don't know how the traditional ducktail would look on a 928, but perhaps take cues from the rubber spoiler that came on the car? Have the sides of the ducktail run up the sides of the hatch and then have the actual spoiler rise and peak at the back, like drawn. It might then flow together a bit better, IMO.
I like the idea of having straps keep the hatch closed (or the hood for that matter), however you'd need to find a way to gain enough rigidity in the bumper cover to get it to work.

Sorry, the video shows the GT3 with the key on the left.

Yes but what would be the point of moving the 928 key to the left?

So funny you said that, i order balsa today. But for the wing mold. I can't remember if it was balsa used in the 917s or other light wood type, I do know they used the same wood in the Carrera GT, somebody should research that. I did plan to have a simple shifter finish like the RS 911s and RSRs, where just the rubber shifter bellows is used w/o leather cover. Easier w/ older 911 because of how **** screws on and the bellows finishes nice w/o cover.

We think alike. Glad to know you all know your Porsche history and get it.

I think the side rub strips and the S4 wing make the 928 look larger,

the ducktail seems to shorten the car visually.
Shaping it in Balsa now and Hood Vents are almost done (being cut now in aluminum)

Hate cutting the hood it looks perfect but gets so hot in there and I want to keep the intake temperature down for a little extra charge like 'The lightweight' hood.

I am pulling apart the headlight lift assembly and drilling it for lightness, can't figure why Porsche left that assembly so darn heavy. Need to retain the light function, at night when i drive it is too cool a feature. But i have thought about a fixed low set light under a lexan blanket like the late '70s factory backed Corvettes used.

Have a great weekend everyone, will update and impressed with you guys.

Thanks Martin but they aren't very good and were rushed, i have lost my touch so to speak, haven't the time to practice. Would like to start doing more rendering, used to be pretty good at it.

Hard part is getting point across in drawing which i think it did for a quick sketch.

To answer your question; Instrument cluster is with Hartmut at North Hollywood, asked him to leave them stock black but add a subtle RS 5/8" tall in a similar script that RUF uses. Place it just below the tach needle centered and raise rpm to 6750.
Stock redline is around 6200, seem reasonable increase to achieve and something Porsche might have done.

I saw a nice 911 on way home today and thought i wouldn't take any 911 over a nicely done lightweight 928 RS.
