I recall ( long long time ago in a dark and far away land) Porsche drivers would flash their lights and we would nod at one another. These were my 356/911 days. Also Porsche drivers had, well sorta of a "reputation" as we all know. In todays world
there are so many models of Porsche's which I feel the mark has become a bit diluted or over sold. In LA and here in the Bay Area I have found that very few, if any, modern Porsche owners even acknowledge 928's, regardless of how load our exhaust is.

928 owners and prospective buyers are "A" typical Porsche owners. They are interested in the car for
the car, how it's made, design etc. They may have never owned a Porsche before. How many 928 owners
lust for a Boxster or a Cayenne .....? ( Unless you need to tow your 928 to Nevada
It's a different group and I think this is what is going to drive the price up in the long run.

We not only flash our lights ( we chase the guy down and go have beer) Try this in your Panamera

Cheers

Rising value makes me feel better when I have to throw some money at it. Resale value does not interest me, as I never seem to be able to part with my classics anyway. :-)

Rule of thumb on predicting e next car that goes up in value is which car people around 40 to 45 years old had as a dream car as a kid... At 40 to 45 people get some money to spend on other things. So, it is time for the cars from the 70's now.

Same thing on my 1971 Fiat Dino's. They more than doubled over the past five years. TR6 prices picking up as well.

I am 43...

Even if my 928 were now worth $0, it's been an incredible bargain as a daily driver over the last 14 years and 190K miles considering I only paid $16K and have not done much more than regular maintenance and few repairs while more or less beating the crap out it.
