Please help identify my transaxle

Today while dealing with my timing belt, I discovered that the trans was in fact in gear. I put it in neutral manually (shift coupling is still disconnected) and then turned the left rear wheel...and the right rear wheel now spins in the same direction. The diff cover has been off since last week...no fluid in it. Interesting.

Just to finish up this thread, in case someone has a similar situation in the future and finds this thread via search:
I filled the transaxle with these products
And then confirmed this
Now, the twist...the VIN on the sticker on this transmission (shown in beginning of this thread) matches the VIN of the PO's 1988 S4. What I don't know is, why did he swap his other car's trans into this car?

Spinning donuts is easier without LSD since only one wheel receiving power, while the wheel is turned, helps push the car in a circle. Both wheels receiving power pushes the car straight ahead. Some racers prefer non LSD cars for this reason.

When I turn one side with the car on a lift and the trans in neutral, the other side turns the same direction. When I originally checked, the transmission was in gear (and the other side turned the opposite direction).

I dont agree with that. Normally without lsd you would just spinn the inner tire, and IF you get the car out without lsd it would get really sketchy and not slipping the outer tire properly. Changing from slipping to non slipping and giving you a unstable oversteer.
