Around 147-150, the car was still pulling and felt quite strong. 87s4

Personally had it around 130 for a little while and was a passenger in the car with somebody else driving where the speedo idicated 147 and the car was still pulling when we had to slow down.

Both times were many, many years ago.

150 going into Turn 1 at BIR. Usually 140 to 145 but that day had a tailwind.

Steady and solid and still pulling. I figure it'll do 180.

260 kph on the A3 autobahn in a 78 euro 5 speed in 1985. The front end wanted to "float" a bit at that speed at any curve in the road, but the autobahn is banked and made for speed. I've done Mach 1.2 in a T-38 and almost 700 knots ground speed in a Gulfstream 550 at 41,000 ft. I had a great tailwind on that one!

260+ kph on the German autobahn 2 years ago, could not make top speed due to too busy (relatively speaking, at those speeds) traffic at that time - road safety first (this might read a bit strange for those who have never driven on unlimited speed streatches of the autobahn, for those who have: you know what I mean).
And as Nicole wrote: whenever you decide to go for those kind of high speed runs, make sure your oil level is properly topped up (= max level).

1. In Concord mark 2.1 at 65,000ft IIRC London to JFK. Got the Certificate somewhere.
2. 356B Super 1600 118mph on speedo unrestricted road in the 1960s.
3. 912 , equivalent to Super 90 engine around the same speed in 1960s, unrestricted road.
4. S4 Auto 197k/h up hill in the mountains somewhere in NT.

1. No control.
2 & 3. Flat out.
4. Was dependent on age and pucker factor.

These high speeds on open public roads bother me. On one hand, holding the throttle open doesn't take much skill. On the other hand, there are sudden obstacles on public roads be those wild animals, cows, or tractors pulling hay wagons.

Be smart and be safe, people.

I had mine up to 135 mph a couple times. I was too nervous to go more. Not because of the car. I was more afraid of a smokey somewhere hiding in the bushes. I don't have a RD.
