Hypercoil suspesion kit
I bought this kit years ago before this was available http://www.928motorsports.com/parts/...lstein_kit.php
The aluminum front spacers do not clear the shock adjuster threads. Sorry I don't have a better picture. Does anyone have a suggestion how to hone the spacer for clearance without having to take it to a machine shop?

Depends on what type of equipment you have and how nice of a job you want done.
Are you saying the outside diameter of the aluminum spacer is larger than the outside diameter of the adjusting nut? Such that you cannot get a wrench on the adjusting nut?
Hard to know exactly what you are wanting.

Are you saying that the inside diameter of the spacer is smaller then the threads, so it does not go over he threads?
I don't know for sure, but can you move the spacer to the top of the coil?

That's correct the inside diameter of the the spacer is smaller the threads and I'm unable to drop the vehicle height. Yes I move the spacer up to the to of the coil.

need a picture of the top seat to decide if moving the spacer will work,
otherwise what is the reason your using these springs?
what will the car be used for?
if street driven get stock springs and fit them, you wont need the spacers but will need a bilstien lower spring perch and we need to see the top seating are of the shocks
this would offer the best ride with bilstien shocks for the street IMHO

Mrmerlin It's impossible at this time for a picture since it's on the car. Yes it's street driven. Believe me if I knew in the get go I would have never bought these from Carl at 928 motorsport. He told me this would be a direct replacment with my stock set up. Besides the fitment issue it rides and handles nicely. If I can only adjust them properly. The other thing I opt for these because they cause much cheaper than my original sport set which would have set be back $1800.

Carl will help you out I am sure. He sold you something that does not work and probably has something to fix it for you. Have you contacted him? He is a sponsor on Rennlist.

If you ship the spacers to me, I'd be happy to open them up a little bit for you no problem. I have Bilsteins in stock here so I can test-fit that the spacers clear the threads before I send the spacers back.
No charge.

I need to know the dimension of the outside of your threads, or just go around the threads with a majic marker and draw a ring on the adapter/spacer. Then ship the spacer to me for modification.
Without this information, if I just blindly send you another set there stands a good chance you will have the same results. I'd like to know how yours is different from all the others we've sold - so I need that measurement.

Outside diameter of the shock threads are approximately 23cm or 9.0 inch. I'm the very first customer you sold your Hypercoil springs kit without your Bilstein shock kit. Your kit was a general replacement for stock springs at the time you sold them. It took a year to resolve the spacer issue and non OEM upper A-arms. Maybe this will refresh your memory.

Ah. I remember how reluctant I was to adapt my Hypercoil kit for Bilsteins, but that's what you wanted, so we did. Yep, that's the first set ever made. If memory serves, you bought the Bilsteins and the Hypercoil kit all as one from us at the same time, and I test-fitted those adapters over the shocks before they left here. That's actually my picture you have posted, so I can see how they fit before they were shipped.
But, we never envisioned anyone would lower the adjustment nut below Bilstein's spec and so our spacer never had to slide over the threaded section. Bilstein wants full thread engagement, thats why the spanner nut is taller than the threaded section on the shock. The range of adjustment is up or down until such time you start to uncover threads onthe shock body. then you have to stop.
Is that what you are trying to do now? Realise that if I (or anyone else) opens them up to clear the threads, they may rattle on the shock body over bumps, because they will no longer be a nice slip-fit like they are now. Not to mention you will have weekend the system by not getting full thread engagement.
If they are too tall, a better solution would be to have us shorten the spacers. Then you would still have full thread engagement, and the height you want.
Please advise.
