Default auto trans reservoir bottle threads stripped

Well, it could be the cap threads that are stripped. 928Intl is sending out a used cap to try. However it could be the reservoir bottle threads that are stripped. The bottle seems to be NLA. Does anyone have a good used reservoir bottle that could be sent out priority arriving by Saturday? P-Message?

I really appreciate the help..... the old warhorse is too serviceable to be put aside over a piece of plastic.

Thanks Mike

Mike,
What is your MY ?
When you say 'bottle", do you mean the upright reservoir ?
I have a horizontal reservoir from an 87.

MJ,
Mike sounds like he won't function without it. If he is an upright version, then you can have it. Mind you, there is no gasket in the cap. There is the filter however.

Not sure if "bottle" means the plastic reservoir for the Trans fluid but I recently replaced mine(89S4) with the parts coming from Roger. No problem on availability and part was inexpensive. The reservoir was loose because PO had overtightened the bolts that caused the molded in nuts to strip/rotate in the reservoir chassis. Not too much of a PITA to repair.

Tightness of the cap on the reservoir is crucial as I worked my way through multiple "dexron" puddles in the garage after futzing around with fluid, filter and gasket change.

Good luck.
