I really appreciate your advice. I haven't sold a car online yet. I even told someone I know that I did think the listing could have been thought out a little more. Funny thing is, someone will buy a 928 for 5k and see themselves in my same boat if they are loyal to it. I have to wait three months to cash in my retirement, I owe money on the car at 205 a month, it paid for my divorce a couple years ago. If I can somehow get the payment made for three months, I will just pay it off and keep it with the lump retirement. I did say before I really don't want to let it go, but in my current situation it would make things easier. She is still my baby lol!

Discuss it with your Bank, they may understand and give you a few months.

My friend is a stone mason and his biz gets slow every Winter. He has a hard time making payments on all of his equipment every Winter.

They (his equipment loan) always understand and let him catch up in spring.

I'm glad you can laugh about it and I think you need to keep your beautiful '84S. Talk to them you may be surprised.

HKp7,

A few more suggestions. You need to raise your asking price in your new ad. It seems like you should ask about $8500 and make it or best offer. You justify that price by saying all that has been done to the car. Do you have the maintenance records? You get someone interested and then negotiate from there. Your price makes the buyer think to himself "it must be a piece of Crap at that price". Your pictures are not very descriptive. You may not be intending it but they seem like they are hiding something. Your ad needs to sell more. Instead of "the paint looks great for it's age" say "The paint is the original paint and is in excellent shape for an almost 30 year old car" Factory paint is the best paint the car will ever have. Everyone knows that. Original paint is a selling point, especially if it looks good. Show more pictures of the paint. Straighten out the pictures. People hate craning their neck to look at pictures. Show more pictures of the interior. The interior tells the story of how the car has been cared for. If the interior is shot the car has not been cared for. Study some of the dealer ads and look at the other 928 ads and you will get the picture. GLWS

Do a title loan. I had to. The finance co I use will loan 70% off lowest blue book. I paid cash for the car then took a $4500 loan out to help pay bills and buy a few parts. My payment is at about 200 per month. I'll never sell a car again because i need money, unlike my past 7.

I know the ad on eBay was a rush job, just really hoping someone on here would want it so my loss goes to an enthusiast rather than someone who won't appreciate it. As I've said a million times with this car, I really don't want to give it up. Just seems like anything to reduce my monthly expenses is a plus. Every time I go to the parking garage to get in my daily driver, which is a 98 Bmw, I feel terrible about trying to convince myself to sell. I have been doing what I used to call side jobs to get by. I repair cars for a small clientele and I do it mobile. Most of the people I do work for drive German cars. Had an idea of using the 928 for a work vehicle to show people how long a car can last lol.

Sounds like you really just need 3x$205 for the loan payment until your retirement is available. Or you need the 90-day payment-schedule relief from your credit union. Start at the credit-union. They are often a lot more sensitive to situations like this than the bigger banks might be.

Crowd-funding among this group has been a mixed bag. Good side is that there's a 928 roaming around that is crowd-supported after a troubled owner was rescued. There was that scurvey motorcycle bandit case where members funded his cross-country ride home with cash and food/lodging donations. I hate seeing people forced to make disasterous decisions because of short-term cashflow problems, but this is shaping up to look like one of those cases. Let us know how your CU responds, then maybe we need to help out one of our brothers.

Bethpage Federal Credit Union will finance a 928 as long as it is 25 years old. JJ Best Banc will but their rates are 9.99% and they are not a bank.

The bank I use is called community united credit union, when I was going through a divorce a few years back, they easily let me borrow 10,500 on it. Without a real job I can't see being able to refinance at this point. My payment of 205 is about 20 days late. I called them, told them my situation, explained how I'd be getting around 70 grand at the end of sept. I told them I'd pay off both cars with that money if they gave me some lee way. Also offered to sign an agreement. They talked it over with the CEO and just said they start repo after 60 days of being late. If anyone would be kind enough to help me out, I would repay with interest.

Have you thought about a pawn shop ? If you need short term cash this may work in your situation, you can loan them something of value or sell something.

Hide the car till you get the 70 grand then pay it off. This is assuming your credit is already tarnished.

^^^ +1

If you can't sell it for what you owe on it, will the credit union release the title to the new owner? We don't have titles up here, that's why I'm asking.
