Default Feeler Post: 1991 S4 For Sale...

I'm putting up a feeler post here. As some of you know, we're moving to Greensboro, NC this summer. I love my car but I don't know that I'm going to give it the attention it wants in the coming year.

I'm putting out a feeler post. Pictures are in my profile. I'll add more.

1991 S4, 145,000 Miles
Prior Owner from 101,000-143500 miles: Scott Anderson (son of Mark of 928INTL.com)
Owned 1 year.
Replaced: Radiator with brand new Behr. All new fluids except PSD (which is fully functional).
Guards Red. 1 footer in some spots-3-5 in most spots. Oxidation of clear coat and clear coat failure around rub strips and all over hood. Could use a respray or 1500 grit wet sand and seal.
Mostly garaged.
18" 993 Turbo Twists with curb rash and 4 year old Kumho's with about 60% tread.
Mobil 1 15W50
Super Blue Brake Fluid
Gates Timing Belt (normal) and Laso Waterpump with plastic impeller
X-Pipe with high flow cats, air pump delete.
RMB (off car) and extra exhaust setup (bigger mids to go with RMB)
New engine in 2006 (1987 block) as original had TBF.
New steering rack 2010.
Needs top end refresh.
Have extra intake manifold and extra valve covers.
Interior: Seats 9/10.
Carpet 4/10 but will steam
Power Steering weep-looking for source. Resealed pump; will check again and rebuild before sending out.
New AC Compressor and Drier (Denso).
All interior lights work but "D" light and some backlights in pod need replacement.
AC Controller rebuilt by hand.
Seat Memory works. Busted seat cable on passenger height left (have new replacement-have to install).
Busted pod height adjustment--have all parts to replace.
All windows and sunroof work.
Washed and waxed regularly.
Going for R134 recharge (leak somewhere). Will need new flaps (def. interior updates).
New Beru Wires, new spark plugs (Bosch Copper), new rotors, new caps, new coils all installed.
New front Ball Joints and alignment just done.
Car is nowhere perfect but not far from being a great car at 145,000 miles.
Needs front spoiler replaced (I have it from a donor car) and driver sill (ditto).
Extra set of taillights (painted red).
Asking $18,000 or best offer. At that price I will throw in full set of printed factory shop manuals, service covers from Roger.

Don't worry-I will be back in the tank sooner than later. Also would consider interesting swaps (and none from Seinfeld), especially 5 Speed, with or without cash. Car has no title defects. Has lien that will be removed before transfer of title.

Thanks!

Michael

Selling and buying another is quite expensive... you lose all the good things you did to the one you sell, and then you usually have to redo it all on the one you buy. Unless you are planning to move-up a lot (e.g. to a low mileage pristine example) and spend a lot of money for it, I worry that you may be shooting yourself in the foot.

Whatever you decide, I wish you good luck!

There is a strong contingency of 928s in NC with Raleigh area leading the way.

A little beer and barbecue will draw volunteers to assist when issues present themselves.

Like I said--feeler post (and I found a kick-*** BBQ place in High Point and know a great one in Durham--all fightin' words-plus Ray Munsch is there...). Nicole-I may do the move up...either way-we'll see if there is interest. If someone here wants the car, I'll work with them to be sure. If not, it gets moved to NC at no-charge to me

Deja vu

Don't sell it!

You can drive the car year round in NC without worrying about winter/salt. Plus, there's a good local contingent.

Hmm.. you already know this, as this is your second 928.

If you sell it, you'll probably have to wait a long time for the "right" one to come on the market (I'm guessing you want a GTS with rootwood option? ). During that time, you'll miss having one.

The only real solution is to keep the 91 until you've already bought the replacement
