Need verification of the m639 option code. Why would they swap the GT dual tip muffler for a standard s4 one?

Fair price for low miles ..

Missing the CS wheels which is a big part of the GT allure.. as well, the muffler is incorrect (looks like stock S4 muffler). Also has updated clock..

Could have been hit hard in the rear taking out the muffler..and necessitating the GTS rear cover...

Looking closely at the pics..updated front fogs to Euro look (clear spacer), and white side markers...would also hazard a guess that the owner or previous owner is here on renny...

All in all..check the rear for damage...and if OK..probably a decent buy..

BTW...the 639 code is listed on the registry page...but no pic of the option sticker...but given the date of manufacture, and details on the registry page, I'm pretty sure this is a Genuine 89GT

Well.....it's no Canadian Spec 89GT....but a GT nonetheless...

I contacted the seller and he is not a user or member here. He did look at this thread though and has updated his eBay listing with some additional verification of this being a GT version of the S4. He also told me that it has the double outlet muffler but the outlets are hidden inside the oval tip that makes it look like as S4 muffler.

That makes it an '87-'89 S4 muffler. Even you know this Jerry, they just didn't slip on an oval tip on dual outlets.

What sort of rear end hit caused the PO to install a GTS bumper?
