New bait in the tank...
Greetings everyone.
I recently purchased this 1986.5 from a consignment lot in CA. Just refreshed the TB and switched over to the PK tensioner at the same time.
This is my first 928, but still hanging on to my '68 912. I have viewed countless threads here while deciding to buy and during the updating process. Great community to belong to, and many thanks to those who generously share their knowledge of these fine automobiles.
Oh yeah, the "Drakula" comes from a PO vanity plate. I surmised that they were a doc and the "akula" part means "shark" in Russian. I thought the vehicle deserved the continuation of that moniker.

Point your browser to www.928oc.org and see if the 928 Owners Club might have something for you. Hope so! Great car. One of my best friends who I met through 928 ownership (he also had an '88 S4 5spd back in the day) speaks Russian and used Akula as his handle for awhile!

That's a lovely car. Welcome to the best source of information and help that I've found for these cars. There are people here who will walk you through most any difficulty.
And they really know their stuff.

Welcome! Looks very "shiny"!
The rub strips are not the ones from the factory, so they could potentially be removed easily, for a cleaner and simpler look.
What kind of headlights are on the car?

Welcome aboard!
I too purchased my dream car over a year ago and am in the process of upgrading various components. I have driven the shark a total of 80 miles since I purchased it in February 2012 from a British private collector.
The desire to drive and enjoy it right now is almost too much to bear, and missing out on my 2nd " Sharks in the mountain" hurts. But in the end, having a 928 that will give me years of trouble free enjoyment is more important.
The rennlist 928 owner's are a breed apart and I have spent countless hours reading and taking notes. I will post all the things that I feel are important to consider upgrading and you should probably plan on doing things that may not be needed but if they have not been replaced before should be.
The car is an amazing work of automobile engineering and art.
