Yep, I'd much rather a good coating of 30 year old engine bay grime, than something tarted up with armorall and poor workmanship. Neglect generally fvcks stuff up less

Nice project! Didn't realize you are so close. Monterey Park... I think I can see it from my back yard.
First steps need to include some serious clean-up. After you get the initial fuel system issues nailed. Clean makes it easier to assess condition, easier to find leaks, and for sure less of a chore to work on. I can clearly see the ful rail cap where the gauge will connect, even through the ten years of protective dust, so there's hope.
Looks like a fun project for sure. Keep the thread updated with progress reports and pictures as you bring this one back from the brink.

Nice starting point. You have a 'competition package' car I think. Upgraded (bilstein) shocks, shorter ratio tranny, S breaks, and a few other twists.
