Radio antenna question
I'm Trying to clean up the hacked wiring prior to installing my new head unit.
The question I have is the small gauge black wire that is connected to the antenna wire, is that a ground wire? Does it connect to the chassis of the head unit? Also where is the antenna booster located?

Not a ground, it should be the 12v feed from your head unit to the motor on the antenna. Use a digital voltmeter on a low Ohms setting and see if it is zero to ground, or a higher reading, which is probably the motor impedance.
I do not believe the 86.5 has an antenna booster, someone will chime in to confirm or otherwise.

86.5 had the antenna booster, located on the firewall on the passenger side. Small black box about 3*3 inches. Can be seen if you remove the glovebox. Connects to the windshield antenna.
Cheers!

After doing another search on the antenna booster. I think you guys are correct on the black wire being for the power for the booster.
Now i need help figuring out what these wires went to. They are all in one bundle. Looking at the wire diagram I don't see any pairs like this for the radio. The red wires in the plug don't have power to them with the ignition on or off. The small gauge red wire is constant power.
