Thanks in advance,

Totally dependant on luck, at this point and very tough to make a general statement. All of these transmissions and gears are very old, generally with very high "cycle" time. Hydrogen embrittlement has occurred. Most of the gears I see have wear at the base of the teeth.....it's actully tough to find a ring and pinion without this wear. There's bond to be stress risers into the base metal from these wear patterns.

The best thing to do is to "feed" it whatever power you "are dreaming about" and see if it lives.

It also greatly depends on how the power is applied, and of course how much traction you can get!

More traction = less life.......

generally speaking the automatics are regarded as "stronger" than the 5 speeds.....but all of these transmissions are OLD..... Its safe to say that once you surpass about 400ftlbs things become problematic....the "best" 5 speed came in the GTS and it was rated at 367ftlbs so maybe 310 wheel torque...

If you plan on a street dyno queen on street tires.....then your transmission probably will last a while....if you want a stroker at over 500ftlbs to the ground and plan on racing it on 320 slicks....you better have a pristine transmission to start with AND a great cooling system...plus a lot of luck....
