My new project 93 928 GTS
#61
I checked my fuel lines up front and they are all still in good shape with no cracks etc. My wet fuel line is the one that runs from the filter to pump. It's difficult to tighten because you can' get a wrench in there to counter hold the check valve. I'm going to grind down a wrench to get the job done.
The 911 did not have many fires with Fuel issues.
The 928 HAS. PLEASE listen to us, and replace the fuel lines that enter the engine bay. All your work could burn to the ground with one tear.
The replacements from our well-trusted mechanic Greg Brown, here in SoCal at Precision Motorworks are well worth the price.

I didn't use any special tools to adjust the timing but I intend to do some fine timing adjustments toward the end of my project.
I will definitely invest in a hot post cover and new fuel lines (including the hard line going from the filter to pump). I've come to far to risk the GTS bursting into flames once I get it back on the road.
I need to start figuring out the PSD since I got the Diff Off error message on start up. I will start by putting fresh fluid into it and go from there.
Oh yah ... I decided to go with the Pioneer DEH-80PRS deck ...

Pretty on the outside, toasty on the inside. 928 fuel line from my 86.5, which virtually came apart in my hands on removal, or why I am paranoid about this issue:
And notice it is an aftermarket low-pressure line. Who knows who's been in there doing what?

no worries.... I plan to change out the fuel lines before I hit the road.
Success in bleeding the clutch...although I still get bubbles when I bleed from the slave using a vacuum pump. I might have to burp the M/C but the pedal is firm with full travel for now.

I only see the windage tray and oil pan spacers on the website. Are the fuel lines still available? Cost?

Gregs lines are not cheap (relative to factory), but that is reflective of each one being handmade/checked by him, and the use of the very best materials. Considering the quality I regarded them as worth every cent.

Other parts/components some may compromise on if they wish, but fuel line nonchalance can be lethal.

Nice work and congratulations
You have the sister to my GTS minus the ancient cell phone. Car looks great in Amazon.

I just washed the car and took some pics. I plan to take a short break from the GTS project to get my Fiat X1/9 back on the road. I bought the Fiat when I was 20 (my first car) and still have it after all these years. I was planning on getting it back on the road this year and I'm running out of time.
Now for some pics:
