Not sure what temp it would correspond to, but assuming your temp gauge reads halfway when the engine is fully warmed up, i think you would want it to kick ON when the gauge reading increases slightly above halfway, and switch OFF at/or slightly below halfway. How you set the thermostat also depends on where it is reading engine temperature from.

Awesome! Post some pics when you get it up and running. What's the flow rating/current draw on that fan?

You do realize that you are now ONLY cooling the 16 inch circle that you are pushing air into and not the rest of the radiator. The puller fan and shroud pulls air from ALL the radiator. The "A/C" fan was ALSO used as extra cooling when needed and engaged by a thermo switch in the radiator. But the condenser greatly reduces the air flow. You might want to rethink this "upgrade" .

I agree - that isn't going to make it in slow traffic, hot weather, AC on...

Do a search on here for "contour fan".

BTW Jim, while your dogs are beautiful, so was your last avatar.

Hot day, slow traffic, not enough air movement with baby fan, not all the flow making it through to radiator.

Hot side thermostat means it runs all the time once engine is warm, even if air flow from driving is plenty, or its below freezing outside.

I couldn't get pullers to cool enough on hot days. Not one big 16" or two 12" ones.

Only after I got a fan shroud did the electrics cool enough.

I am pushing with 1 16", it worked fine pushing through the coil all day and it was hot

I did not use my AC though, and i sure didn't get on it, and that may cause an issue. I really like not have the stock fan and carrier, so much room. Luxurious in there. Want to make it work. But as i told Danglerb it is working so far and i'll keep you posted.

Re the shroud, if i went to a puller by reversing the blade and polarity to spin in opposite direction in order for the shroud to work the fan cannot be placed against the radiator it would need to be held back where the stock fan is in relation to radiator. These fans have to mount directly to radiator so shroud won't do its thing anyway.

If it does show signs of running hot i will relocate the fan right on the radiator and re position the AC coil forward at an angle.

Doing my Timing Belt in morning for the first time, curious to see what the fuss is about.
