Default Super Rich Gas Smell

Hello
I have a question about just how rich the car should run and if I should do something about this.

When I floor it, I get some really heavy burned gas smell that will waft back in through and open sunroof or window (or is it coming in through somewhere else like my hatch?)

It smells like there is way too much fuel being dumped in, like an old 70's camaro or something that drives by and smells like unburned gas.

Everything on the engine has been refreshed. Complete intake job with all new seals and with every sensor except Temp I and II. Has new injectors as well.

Idles perfect, runs through the revs perfect. New radiator, alternator, water pump. Cam timing is perfect and was set by my Porken 32vr. Other than the richness it goes like a raped ape.

I want to get this right so when I (fingers cross) put a supercharger on this fall it will not have any surprise issues.

Am I worrying about nothing?

Should I just put an AFM in the car so I can see what is going on? Then should I think about tuning the car with a shark tuner?

I have Cats. Apparently the car passed california Smog 5 years ago before I brought it here. MPG on highway is 19. Average MPG is 14.6 combined highway/city. I use fuelly to track all gas.

You shouldn't be smelling a rich smell Jeff. How old is the O2 and do you know the condition of the MAF?

No smell of gas in the garage. It's burned gas. All fuel lines under hood are new. New fuel pump, removed in tank pump, new fuel filter on there. No leaks by tank. Plastic Y for canister has been replaced a few months ago and it isn't cracked.

I think I put a new O2 sensor in when I did the intake refresh three years ago.
MAF was rebuilt 7 or 8 years ago.

I was also mistaken. I did put a new Temp II in when I did the intake refresh.

I had that problem with my '85 but it also wouldn't idle until it was warm, if yours idles this might be useless information: my problem was a ruptured vacuum line (928 110 602 00) that was 25 years old. Did you replace those hoses during your refresh? Any of them could do the same thing but in my case it was that one.

I can't find a record of replacing the O2 sensor after all my digging. It was replaced by the PO but not in the 40,000 I have driven it.

I also don't have an airpump any more for those last 40,000 miles either.

If you've replaced those vacuum lines I'd check the MAF and O2. The O2 sensor is easiest to get at. There's a thread on MAF tuning Ken wrote that's pretty good, I suggest reading it too, though you may have to interpolate a bit applying it to a'90.
