Not sure why you'd need a 20-ton shop press to use the kit. The dust boots included with it are absolute ****. If you want the kit to last, get some replacement boots from 928 International and install at the same time you put in the kit.

Agreed, kit is fine apart from the boots - Genuine Boots are a must for correct fitment.
I found the most difficult part of the process was getting the original circlip unsealed and out, overall quite a simple process with good results.
the press if you happen to have one, is useful to hold the cap and spring while re-installing the circlip.

Let me guess - you haven't figured out how to subscribe to a thread.
Select the 'Thread Tools' link at the top of the thread then choose 'subscribe to this thread'.
You can then access all your subscribed threads through either your forum account, or by choosing the 'quick links' option at the top of any forum page.
Hope that helps.

Well seems like pain to remove, clip hard to hold in place and reinstall clip and order a set of boots from another vendor., does that about cover it? The other option "replacing arm" is very expensive and a lot more work so survey says?

Kit works. I removed them to install, others report it is somewhat doable with arm still on the car. Check also rennbay, might be there too.
Boots are a travesty. This was an issue in 08 when I replaced them; should have been fixed by now by 928 Motorsports. They are probably just reselling a canned kit. I called them at the time, got no return call, did research on customer service record overall, and for all practical purposes wrote that supplier off. Very frustrating. I really want a third strong supplier to buy from, too.
928'sRus has the uppers, I think X-ref from Audi, I'm installing a pair this morning. They weren't cheap, something like $18 each but perfect. 928 Intl may also have.
FYI, lower boots have not been sourced by anybody.

I didn't find the removal of the clips too difficult. I just drilled a tiny hole at an angle behind the clips, and used a small pick or screwdriver to pry them out. I changed mine with the control arms on the car.

As of 2011, all of the kits come with OEM rubber boots w/ clips. They are not "absolute ****" now, just standard run of the mill ****. ![Smilie](https://rennlist.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
If any of you that have purchased a kit via Carl, myself or any other vendor prior to 2011 and are still having problems with the polyurethane boots let me know and I will replace them for you.
