Default 82 intake removal

Sorry if I missed it, but I searched and could only find newer model procedures. I removed my 78's intake in 1987 but the engine was out for rebuild. Is there a procedure thread for the intake and valve covers for a 82 while in the engine bay? Thanks!

The intake is pretty straight forward. It comes straight up off the heads with two bolts per runner. Once the airbox is off you can see what's going on. As far as "valve covers" go, that's a lot more involved. Pulling the cam carriers is generally easier to do by pulling the engine first. It's doable in the car, but really a PITA.

Thanks. From what I remembered, it wasn't that difficult. The newer models look a little more involved. I'm assuming all runner gaskets should be replaced, anything else while I got it off? All vacuum, fuel, oil and coolant lines are less than three years old.
