The cam gears are toast due to wear, the belt is loose, going to be a fun week.
Belt rides at the front edge of the gear?

Turn the gear around!

Presto-chango, belt rides in the center.

I'm hearing a lot of complaining and no wrench turning.

As I was told many years ago...if it was easy they wouldn't need you.

Decided that bottle of Merlot was the better date tonight my friend. Try not to mix the two unless it's on my own car, or Brads.

Sean,

At least a few folks on here can identify the error, and understand what you are going through. We are a bunch of "wild" folks, and yet come together (Beatles Song..) for the benefit of all 928 owners.

I was wondering about you the other day, how you doing?

As to us being the wild folk, I suppose if ya want to call a great group of people who care about each other and the continuance of the marquee "wild", yes sir, I am one.

I see someone who never played with the yellow star, blue square, red circle fisher price toy and learned their shapes.

Sean,

If that's what they did to the easy bits you just have to wonder WTF the rest of it is like. A rough idle...?

The rest of this thread is going to be interesting reading assuming you ever get that far!

Best wishes

Fred

[by the way notice how "far" with an exclamation mark after it looks remarkably like the word fart? I had to check my spelling twice]

LOL, thanks Tom

Ok, just so ya all know, when you put the cam gears on a 16v backwards, you can still get TDC on bank 1-4 by the position of the number uno cylinder. What you don't want to do is get the passenger side 180 degrees out when you put it all back together. Like this car. I have no idea how they managed to get it to run at all.

Notice the TDC mark on the right gear and none on the left gear, both of these were backwards. When I took the right cam gear off the TDC mark was opposite of where it should have been.
