There is Overstreet European Motors in Gordonsville. He has several customer 928s he works on. He's worked on my cars for years. Good and honest guy. If you live on the west end of Richmond, it will take you about an hour to get there.
ASG and Lufteknic both are good shops and have good reputations.

The previous owner of my car had it serviced at Lufteknic and nothing but great things to say about them, both on the quality of the work and fair pricing.
I just moved to Richmond a little while ago and am looking for a mechanic for my '89 GT.
My friends that have 911s are happy taking their cars to Lufteknic (http://www.lufteknic.com/about.html), but they don't list anything about 928s on their website.
I've also heard good things about Sportcar Workshops (http://www.sportscarworkshops.com/Home.html), but I don't know how much experience they have with 928s.
Any opinions on these two shops? Is there another shop I should be considering?

Happy New Year, George. I'll try to clear the schedule for the 4th in Richmond.
Now has been 9 months of toil on the S4, and there's light at the end of the tunnel. Buttoning-up the timing belt and embarking on the intake removal. All downhill from here.
If anyone is remotely interested in watching from afar, I've been chronicling the work on the OC site: http://forums.928oc.org/vbulletin/showthread.php?t=2250. After seeing George's GT first hand, it caused a seismic rethink of how my car should appear.

Yes, Bob, it does. It'd be great to see them at a few First Settlers PCA events. If some of you guys would commit to the 4 Jan breakfast at Silver Diner, I'll cruise up from Va Beach and make it my first Richmond breakfast of the year. I didn't get to as many in 2013 as I wanted to.
Cheers,
George

Welcome to 928 ownership guys! Glad you both found nice S4's! That is how I started...now look at me! LOL!
Be sure to check out the 928 Owners Club at www.928oc.org We would love to have you join the club that supports our cars and events all over the world. It's cheap and there is much to love being a member... Well organized technical library with all kinds of "how to's", Roadside assistance program, individual thread about your car and a tool loaner program to cover the biggies.
All the best!
