Bought one today
Picked up a '80 928 5-speed project today. Looking forward to lots of info from everyone. Pictures to follow.

The DFW area has one of the best local support networks for the cars. Follow the group to their monthly cars-n-coffee breakfast meeting and get a feel for what/who your local resources are. It's a great group. Go even if you need to drive your 'other' car as the new one gets into shape.
They maintain a Yahoo Group separate from Rennlist, but the main events like meetings/breakfasts/drives are generally posted here too.

Apparently, we are going to the Cars & Coffee at Boardwalk BMW on North Tollway in Plano next Saturday morning. We are supposed to be there at 7 for some ungodly reason (and on a Saturday, too.)and parking in the back corner. Meet us there!

Thanks everyone. I should mention I've had the 928 bug for over 30 years since seeing the first ones roll down the Autobahn as a kid in Germany back in 78-80.
