I purchased my hood liner from "Hooked on cars" and was very happy with the qaulity.

Good news Joel, keep it up!

I just fitted the x-pipe I got from Bill Ball (thank's Bill, I owe you one) to my 87 S4... And man, does it bark! Extremely addictive.

Let's hope you can fix your brothers car up to the point where you start enjoying it.

Well it looks like you have some of the interior parts I need, so...

I agree that the RMB and X are addictive and they conspire to make an exotic sound. I also recall hearing the car pretty clearly from about 1/4 mile away when my brother was visiting... not exactly subtle. There was some talk of fitting the later intermediate mufflers, 928 111 093/4 03 or 04 rather than the 01 model from 1987 to make it a bit quieter.

Update: I believe the CO title in my name is in the mail to me now. There was one hangup there as the title clerk did not choose to actually read all the words in the documentation I'd provided and initially rejected the transfer.

In her defense, there were a lot of words on those papers.

I had a setback, jammed my hand playing softball and have not been very able to wrench so I have not done much work on the car. Priorities are the shifter bushings and ISV.

OK, a month later I actually have the title to this car. It turns out, when I was told that the title had been issued what they meant was "la la la la la la la we haven't actually done anything but please go away." I cleared up any misunderstanding about me possibly going away and leaving them to their facebooks, romance novels and fantasy baseball or whatever and in a short three weeks they issued the title and actually mailed it to me, and I received it in good order. Hooray.

Congrats on getting the title. I believe I almost bought this car a while ago, but walked away due to the title issues! Apparently that was a good call... Until now! Glad you got it sorted. I will be following your progress.

There actually weren't any title issues, I just did not have the car in my possession so I could not get the VIN verification done until last May. I could not work out a way to get the VIN inspected with the car in storage, I would have had to find a cop who would roll by and do it or something like that, and probably pay for an hour of shop time to have the car pulled out for inspection. At some point I decided I'd just ship it up here and deal with it so there was no point in trying to do this remotely.

Once I got the car shipped to CO the VIN verification (typical for any out of state car) was easy, and I had all the paperwork I needed but the Denver office misunderstood some of the "words" on them and what they "meant" and that took a month or so to clear up. If I had been luckier with the word-reader in the Denver office it'd taken a lot less time. It's a tl;dr world.

So to be fair it was an 8 week process which is within the 6-8 weeks they claim to get an out-of-state title. This is probably the 5th or 6th time I have done this however and 3 weeks is more typical when there is no human error or bulb-dimness involved.

Wow I remember that car like it was yesterday! Too bad it was allowed to fall into disrepair...
