Hi,

Jeff from the 968 forum here. I was wondering if anyone knew anything more about option code 740? Back in the early nineties when the 968s and 928s were produced there was an option code 740 that a few of the cars had. Only 10 North American 968 coupes and 10 968 cabs had this option and it was labeled show car preparation. I would like to know more about this option. What exactly did it entail? Anyone know?

I've got that option listed as 'Exhibition Vehicle'. I presume it meant just that, and would have been special detailing for cars destined to be showcased at dealers or exhibitions.

41 928's have this option codes, all GTS's.

And only 5 cars for the US+Canada market, 4 of them for Canada (Automatic only) , 1 for the US (a manual car).
