Option codes missing
Hello,
I was wondering if any option codes could be looked up by VIN number only. My vehicles sticker only states "coo", (european emissions) at the section where option codes should be. The VIN is: WPOZZZ92ZFS840348.
Cheers,
Tero

Thanks for the info, very helpful!
I have been trying to unveil this cars history a bit, and have found this for example: The car was originally purchased by a fellow Finn Mr. T.S. Sonntag 8.11.1984 from Porsche Autohaus Segeberg, Bad Segeberg, Germany. The first service stamp is dated 22.10.1985, at Porsche dealer #1814 Greenwich, Connecticut, USA at 2276 km on the clock. The next stamp is dated 17.08.1988, by Oy Sports Car Center Ab, Finland... 23320 km on the clock this time. The car had travelled by boat more than on the road at this time!
There is also a silver plate with a Porsche crest attached to the ashtray lid, stating "Built Especially for T.S.Sonntag". Car has remained registered in Finland ever since, I have had it for a few years now, since 187700 km. The car now has 211000 km on the clock.

You should try to contact the Exclusiv department of the Factory to know if there was something special about this car.
Is it possible to have pictures of the car, outside, inside and the plate on the ashtray?

If I remember right this same car was for sale some years ago with many interesting claims like white turn signals being from factory etc. I would be very suspicious about any history without verification.

I happen to have the service book, of course. With some interesting info. The person I bought this from, didn't really know anything about this car, he had purchased it from a car dealership in a whim. The car was traded in for a Ferrari, he told me. He figured that he would have fun learning how to fix cars himself- with a 928... Well, he soon learned that this is not a simple beetle despite being old. So he had a hefty pile of service/ repair receipts from Porsche service- just to keep it roadworthy. Even the engine was renewed by Porsche, a factory new block and everything, with two years warranty. The engine block has no engine/ serial number.
I bought this particular car because it has a manual trans, it's black, with black all- leather interior, and it has a LSD. Oh, and it was cheap too. The car has been almost trouble free, it runs like a champ. I am now finishing a process of transmission, TT, brake and rear suspension rebuild.
And about those clear blinkers, I never thought they'd be original. They look aged, come to think of that now. So they don't look out of place.

I'm not sure Porsche made these plates with their logo - someone might have bought a crest from China and made their own; you won't know until you ask the factory. I don't think I have ever seen such a plate before.
I sell these clear (white) turn signal and side flasher lenses, but I'm not convinced the ones you have are from my manufacturer in Germany. They could be from an outfit in Canada, called KLEARZ.
