Default Did I get the wrong part? Air Intake Hose

So I ordered a new Air Intake tube for my 86. Part number 928 110 272 04. Even the parts list says it is correct, however this is too long and the bottle neck is in the wrong place to fit under the strut brace. Maybe labeled the part wrong?

Maybe it's the wrong part. The tubes for the 85-86 engine are no longer available. Maybe post a pic of it as you've tried to install it.

No longer available? Oh snap! Great. Got it from partsgeek.com. Genuine Porsche part but it does not match.

Correct the special small diameter USA 85-86 is no longer made.....so they sent you a different one but what the hey they never saw a 928 !!!!! let alone an 85-86 . Another reason to use the 928 specific suppliers....they KNOW the 928 !!

That's the correct part for a '85-86 M28.21/22 engine code... a Euro in other words. (Same tube as the 83-84, and 87-91).
The intake tube for a M28.43/44 ('85-86 USA spec) is/was 928 110 272 11.

What Jim said, that part is NLA and these frustrations are avoided by working with one of the 928 specialty suppliers.

Oh, and PET is your friend

Cheers, Jim

FWIW on the cars they still make tubes for, they only make one tube,
It has 2 holes one either side where it connects to the cam cover outlet,

simply turn the rubber collar 180 degrees and you can now fit the tube to the other side.

This also applies to the the ones they dont make anymore

They don't make them anymore. I had to hunt these boards for another '86 parting out.

What sides do you need? I have a used one that's in decent condition, driver side I think. It also matters what's wrong with yours too. My passenger side was dried, cracked and crumbling. Driver side was good.

I NEED a pass side, however I'm assuming any would work. I don't have one at all.

PM me. I might help you take the ones you got off your hands if you cannot send them back.

He always answers mine. Maybe yours went into a junk folder. You can try PM here as well. Last but not least start a thread to ask him to contact you.
