spark plug wire lube
finishing up some winter projects on the GTS and was thinking the disti cap/plug wires connection could have a lube to aid sealing and removal......any recommendations?

Sealing and removal sound like two polar opposites, no? Not sure there's one product that would do both.
Agreed that it would be nice to have something that would ease removal from the distributor caps.

I've used this for some time:
http://www.agscompany.com/lubricants/single-use/227
It claims to prevent the boots from sticking and also seals out moisture. I can't verify those claims, but it seems to work, and the boots are always easy to pull off later.
A little foil envelope is about a buck, does several sets of boots.

FWIW, this is exactly the only use for dielectric grease on the car. It's the only place where a non-conductive (high dielectric strength) silicone lubricant is required. CRC makes a heavy-duty silicone spray that has similar dielectric strength, but doesn't stay thick enough to actually keep moisture out. I'm not sure how important that is for most of us non-uboat pilots.

Should be noted, the grease / lube does NOT go on the electrical connections, only where the rubber boots touch aluminum / plastic etc....
Electrical connections should be clean and dry.
