Default Uh oh. Something broke....

Well luckily i have a high idle and was 100 yards away from home. Too hot to tear into it and on my way out to dinner with the fam, so I'll post this and come back in a bit to read your guys feedback.

I pulled up to a stop light and stopped. When traffic was clear i gave it the gas but nothing happened. Motor didn't rev and i simply idled forward.

I can see all the rods moving when the gas peddle is pressed and move back when depressed. So the issue is under the spider.

Suggestions? Diagrams, common issues...etc. reply away.

Check the rod going to the throttle body. It probably has come off. Kind of a pain to reattach, but can be done with longish screw driver and flashlight.

or the more common problem,
the throttle rod that goes to the throttle housing has come off the quadrant ( where all of the cables pivot),
it will be right in front as you open the hood,
this would be plug and play,
maybe adjust the rod so the ball cups line up with the respective ball

Well got up and took a pic to post. Maybe someone will see something that I don't. Not sure what the paper clip is all about. As I said, everything moves when the peddle is pressed.

You're missing the rod that goes to the throttle housing. It's a solid rod not a cable. The ones currently connected are throttle cable from pedal, kick down to trans and cruise.
I'd attach a pic but have no idea how on my phone.

Actually now that I took another look at your pic it looks like the rod is on there too, check and see if the rod is attached at the throttle body end.

The rod that goes to the throttle body? It's not in the pic, but it is there. I haven't see the throttle body yet. I'll have to dig in this afternoon.

This is as good as I could get for a pic.

If you grab the rod it should feel solidly attached at both ends. If you can grab it and wiggle it around you are disconnected at the TB. With a flashlight you should be able to look in from the front and see the ball on the throttle housing. Line the rod's ball socket up with the ball and use a long screwdriver to pop it back on.

Doesn't need to be a screw driver specifically. You could use anything long and skinny enough to reach back in there and give you a little leverage.

I have to pull the plugs anyway. It will give me a chance to inspect the air lines on the firewall too.

Nice picture FJ .

Matt before you do any more .

get a helper and have them push the gas pedal see whats moving or not,
its quite possible the throttle cable has broken, you have to know whats moving ,
before you can fix this.
If the throttle quadrant is moving then the ball cup is off the throttle at the arm under the intake manifold, if this happened then you should figure out the correct alignment of the ball cups so they fit perfectly the cups can be adjusted

I'd say it's better than a stuck throttle any day...
