I had mine done at JR's Custom Audio on 183 near loop 12, went with clear on the front windshield which blocks something like 70% of UV/IR and it worked great at keeping it much cooler in summer and could barely tell it was there.

Yea I wouldn't mind a layer on the windshield, it gets hot I'm my carrito.

I'm gonna do the hatch soon, since I don't like people seeing what I have in the hatch.

The clear film is the 3M ceramic stuff. Only blocks 5%, which to the human eye is not visible. Good stuff.

I love the idea of reducing IR through the windshield but I just talked to a local tint guy who said he won't do windshields because the angle and the tint adhesive makes the front vision blurry and make oncoming headlights and overhead lights dazzle. I have no experience with this guy but he seemed honest and sincere. Has that been your experience?

Did you use the 3M brand mentioned by speedtoys?

Speedtoys, do you have specific info on the tint? The 3M site
http://solutions.3m.com/wps/portal/3...eramic_Series/
says:
"The Ceramic Series films reject up to 80% of the sun's heat-producing infrared light and 59% of the heat coming through your windows. These films also block 99% of harmful UV rays, helping to reducing fading and cracking on your interior. Ceramic Series films allow 30% to 50% of the light into your car."

Hi

I am in the UK and to keep my Twin 15 lb Nitrous bottles cool , I had the rear hatch and both rear quarters tinted with "LIMO TINT"

Its illegal here to do the side windows or windscreen...

The problem with Limo tint is that its totally brilliant at what I needed , with one HUGE disadvantage....

Limo tint is the darkest tint you can get and it cuts down 90% of incoming light and 70% of incoming heat.... perfect for keeping my Nitrous bottles (on rear of passenger seat) cool...

BUT..... when I looked in my rear view mirror on a very sunny day, it was like looking in the mirror at late evening time...almost totally useless for vision....

I got around it by fitting a rear view camera (not a reversing camera) in the centre of the rear PU, and a clip on (THE REAR-VIEW MIRROR) LCD screen...

It works really well but was around £230 in all....

Just something to think about if you like rearwards vision.... AND TINT......

All the best Brett
