Mostly my couple days a week driver. Drove home from work, 15 miles. ran good, great acceleration/response. turned into driveway, car died. no restart. it tried to but wouldn't stay running. Put it on the batt maintainer, went to bed. this AM tried it. Key on i hear a steady ticking sound, seems to be directly under the intake. I can hear fuel pump running. Voltage is good. No start. I am heading out now, just trying to get a feel for whats going on before i dig into it. Search didnt come up with much. I am thankful to hear the ticking sound. At least i have a place to start. Was planning on the MM and OPG change next week. So thankful that car died right in front of garage door..

By no start do you mean the engine is not even turning over? If so, Check the battery voltage at the jump post, maybe the starter solenoid trying to kick in and dropping out - if the voltage drops below about 10.5 you will hear this rapid ticking and the starter will not engage, by design I believe.

Agreed, and please make sure your not dumping raw fuel into the cylinders.
One of the LH failures will do what your describing, all the injectors just start opening and closing uncontrolled, kind of like a nervous system breakdown.
Before changing the expensive parts, I would check the usual for good connections/operation:
clean cable connection to the LH and EZK
relays and fuses

To find out if the injectors are firing randomly, you could try the following:
Pull the fuel pump fuse and turn on the ignition. Try to locate with a mechanic stethoscope where the clicking is coming from. A long screwdriver with one side on the injector and the other one on your ear will work too.
With this you prevent flooding of the engine with fuel. If the LH-ECU is bad I would also recommend to send in the MAF to be checked too.
But the above is also true, bad connections and grounding points generate all kinds of problems

When you say "voltage is good," where and how did you measure? What was the voltage?
I had a flat battery a few times where the LH needed to reset itself.
It could be any number of things-such as no fuel delivery-is the pump working? Check the fuses and relays as said above. Have someone listen for the fuel pump to see if it is working. It may be an easy fix or it could be LH-but you'll have to rule out the easy stuff first.

OC Members get a free test from the guy in AZ and then he can fix and gives you a 3 year warranty. Louis was similar price but sends you a rebuilt (from someone else's car) and you send your's as a core, 2 year warranty. Or 928 INTL has used with 1 year warranty.

Well, I haven't had to learn about the LH ,EZK yet. So, battery may be suspect too. I havent had time to check anything yet. I have the WSM, noid tester, fuel pressure tesr...so I am set up. I was planning on pulling engine next week to do the mm/opg, and lots of cleaning. I would like to have it du.Ming well before I pull it. Ticking was heard with key on, and while trying to start. I will first try battery, then continue with fuuel press, injector tests...and lots of reading about LH /EZK.
