Default Introducing 545svk

545svk is a '87 s4 showing 48k miles. Originally delivered in Singapore, it now lives on the Sunshine Coast of Queensland, Australia after spending time in Perth and Melbourne.

Between my Dad and I we have a bit of 928 history, with him buying a 928s new in '82 and visiting the factory to see it built. Then a '85 928s2 that I took over in '94 and sold in '99. Stupid me!

So now my son and I have the '87. We spend the past month and a half cleaning and exploring around the car and starting the "to do" list. Lots of good, expensive advice in the threads, thanks.

The car drives well, track and stop straight, and feel solid like it should. Paint, carpets and some body panel fit seem more worn than 48k miles, but the documentation from 2004 to now support the odometer.

The plan is rolling maintenance and restoration, with the basics up first. TB and waterpump, fluids, plugs and leads.

Car looks very nice from the outside.
Sounds like you have a good plan and helper by your side.
Welcome to the Tank.

Welcome to another Aussie

Good to see you've joined ... It's worthwhile adding a signature including your car details, so you don't have to repeatedly answer questions re your car year and options, every time you post with a question. Go to user CP and edit signature, avatar, details etc.

It's too bad you dumped that 85 euro. I spent a week at the Sheraton Mirage Gold Coast on the spit in Surfer's Paradise in 1989. Great Beach and I enjoyed my visit there. Are you near SP?

Still looks nice;

TV, Sunshine Coast is north of Brisbane, about 150 - 200 mls up the coast from SP. Less bling, more nature and family ( or nothing to do )

You are correct about the '85. My only defense is youth and ignorance - the fact that I went working in another country should not be considered.

Thanks for the compliments. The panels and paint looks good from 5 meters but can do with a repaint. On the other hand I am more relaxed about driving and enjoying it than if it was perfect.
