Really? One of our former members who passed away who was a 'genius' with CIS systems could even get stumped at times...

adjusting CIS is more than the a/f mixture. In short, to adjust properly, you make sure your hot/cold pressure is working properly, timing, idle adjust valve, WUR, A/F amongst others are working in perfect harmony. Otherwise, it's complete chaos!!!

so what did you do to make it run correctly? Did you adjust timing? How did you fuel it properly while still maintaining a normal idle AFR?

Keep in mind this is for a dedicated track car....it will see extended periods of time at WOT......so proper AFR to assure a long life is essential.....clearly I do NOT know a whole bunch about CIS, but I do have a CIS pressure tester tool....

Ice, in short - It's usually a three ring circus. Once you know that your WUR, fuel injectors, distributor, cold start injector are working/flowing properly then it's off to adjusting timing, idle air bypass valve and a/f. I would also suggest using a wideband 02 sensor on your exhaust to measure your adjusted a/f mixture at WOT. To that end I have spent ungodly amounts of time learning about CIS and bought some books. The best being the 'blue bosch' book. It's the bible of CIS.

its a piece of cake. fueling on the dyno will show what you have. if you need more fuel, its not that hard to make a small adjustment. most of the change is self regulating. meaning, the fuel system is responding to mass flow. It might even be ok bone stock, maily because the stock system is NOT maxed out ever!
put it togeether and we will get the fuel it needs, and it will be safe and not be too bad at idle . remember this sytem works on 300 hp euro. the projected HP of the 5 liter with euro intake CIS, is probably 300 at the rear wheels, BEST case. only 15% over stock. should be no problem.

Very well wrote, and just about the short of it too.

My '79 Euro track car has a 5-liter '85 928 block with 1980 Euro S heads & cams and the original CIS system. The fuel distributor has been rebuilt, injectors cleaned, and it runs great. I've got MSDS headers flowing into a single exhaust pipe. It has been run on a dyno with air/fuel monitor across the RPM range and is verified to be fueling properly.

As has been said, there is plenty of fuel flow for the 5-liter displacement. This is the same CIS system that 930s use, and they only fuel 6 cylinders.
