Saw this on Craigslist, don't know as much as I wish I did about 928's, but never heard of a 928 Cabriolet?

After quick research looks like a few aftermarket companies converted a small number, Wiki says 12 928's converted by Carelli. Maybe this is one of them?
Thought it may be of interest to some

Original seats are gone. No sport seats with heat. Doubt this is Carelli, who is Racanelli featured on the door sills?
Google search on Racanelli turns a Pizza Restaurant and Grill in Rye, NY. :-)

This one looks quite a bit like my old convertible, except for the updated side strips.

I'd imagine no matter how good an Italian builder, a 928 with the roof cut off would be a flexible flyer in comparison.
I think a cooler/smarter more Porsche way to get more sun would be to do it like the large area removable tops some 944 have.

I remember reading about that car. Had a "cool" stereo system or something mounted in the T part of the t tops.

Car and Driver, 1980'ish. Graphic equalizer in the driver's side T-bar, I'd probably impale my head on the sliders in a hard left turn. Not sure I'm crazy about the rainbow inserts in the seats, though.
But that car was cool as hell when I was 12.

That is not a Carelli. There were 8 made by Carelli Design in 1980 and sold with Porsche warrenties, we are rebuilding #7 and I have laid hands on #8. I know of two others but don't have any solid information on them. They came with a complete frame substructure that eliminated any chance of cowl shake, as solid or moreso than a stock 928. The fit and finish of the Carelli's was very professional, not just a "cut off the top and stick in a top frame". Porsche lost a considerable amount of money on each one considering the project cost $2.5 million in 1980.
