Owned a '90 964 cab for about 5 yrs & 50k miles; it was always a head turner, even when it was 10 yrs old & 996s were out. It was Linen Metallic ext with a Linen interior, a color only offered in '90 & '91; I enjoyed it very much. Overall I love the uniqueness of the 928s, that combined with all their other great attributes. I'd would definitely own certain 911s in a heartbeat & find myself partial to a 993 cab, at least I sure seem to find myself paying attention to ones I see f/s. Not only because I like the body style, but those are a bit less seen around today compared to the newer models too, kinda like the 928's appeal to me. Maybe that's also why I kept my eye out for a 968 cab for about a dozen years before I got the one I have now.

I own both. Purchased my first 79 911 SC in 1994. Have owned this one since 2006. Bought the 928 in 2011 (birthday present to me - it's my Daily Driver). It was the 928 DFW Group that got me interested and found my 928.

I have a 928, 951 and 996 Cab. If I could get my wife to let me I would trade the 996 Cab for a another 928. Every time I get in the car I think to myself. I love this car. The driving position, the comfort of the seats, the raw power.... I want another one.

My first Porsche was a 71 911T and I'll never forget the way it steered, the wheel was so lively and precise and communicative. Loved the flat-6, hated the carbs, sloppy shifter. I truly love my 928 Euro but I don't cruise long distances, GT style and it's not a back roads car like the 911. I want an 87-89 3.2 G-50 Carrera coupe but can't have both.

Never owned a 911 but drove a '01 996 Carrera for an hour at Laguna Seca. That was fun! Have not tracked a 928 other than AutoX, a course for which it was not optimal.

The 928/911 comparison I'd like to hear more about is this one:

I'll bet there's more crossover with the 944 series.

Well, I currently own a 944 and a 928. The 944 will be going up for sale as soon as spring gets here (if it ever does ). I can't really afford to keep both and I only have a one car garage.

I'd love to have a 911. I considered getting one when I got the 928 this past January. I was open to another 944, a 911 or a 928 and the one I ended up with just worked out the best.

What you need is a category for 911 drivers that aspire to own a 928. I have had several 911's over the years, the latest is an 06 cabriolet. As many have said, the newer 911's are a fantastic car. But I do miss my old 87, just a different beast. I have been smitten with the 928 for 25 years. I'm just to the point that I don't want to wait any longer. Actively looking
