Just had a call from the seller. It's a 1988 928 S4, cassisrot with a mixed burgundy int and cream seats with piping, and white carpet. I have the option codes, they are pretty common, no LSD, does have rear AC, rub strips, sunroof. Car has been taken care of by local vendors, but not to that high of a standard.
Things we've found(mostly Kelanel): missing air dam and under tray, engine bay dirty, fuel lines old, fans cycle strangely, clip missing from headlight arm pin, dent in pax door(but no scratch), scuffiness around wheel wells, central warning lamp not on, other warning lamps not on during key turn, horn not working, AC blows warm, int lights not working, idle high(1100), right mirror won't adjust up or out, rear hatch remote not working, rear int side panels pulling up a bit, dash, pod cracked.
All of the 'usual suspects' on these cars. I'm guessing with a few fuses and some relays, and about 20 hours most of it could be put right. The AC might be as simple as the relay fix, or as bad as a whole new pump, cleaning, leak repairs, and refill, prolly somewhere in between, but at a min the relay in the head.
If a person is a DIY, they could take on the high idle, fuel and vac hoses, and other stuff without much trouble. Front air dam and undertray are going to be about $600 right there, so I'm saying > $1000 in materials and another $1000 or so in labor to have a decent finished product. The dash and pod refurb could put it even higher.
The basics appear to be in order, but we didn't drive it. The crank end play has not been checked, nor has the engine or trans or brakes been tested fully. She's sitting on $6000 right now. I think that's a reasonable price, given the nature of the beast. As with most all 928s, the right person is a DIY guy with time on his hands. Trying to decide if I'm that guy now, but I think with my GT being close to driving, I'll prolly pass.

OK, I'm passing on this car. It's in decent shape but will need some money into it. Nothing serious but all the usual suspects for the age and mileage.
