Default Steering wheel replacement

Mine is an '87 S4 with the rather ugly steering wheel (no air bag). For such a beautiful car, they didn't extend the beauty to the steering wheel. Anybody want to comment on a nice looking wheel, preferably from a used car that would spruce up an otherwise nice interior?

Barney, the contours on a Momo wheel really make those long drives very comfortable to my various upper extremity joints. I have a really bad shoulder amongst other sundry joint aches, and a good Momo wheel is a pleasure. I have a simple looking leather one with a Porsche horn button for show. Search around Ebay, etc. The Momo wheel is worth it. Sorry, don't have a pic right now.

Add: I found this as an example - I like mine better however.

Bjbpe,
RUF made a nice steering wheel (see my avatar). Not sure what colour your interior is of where you might source one.

I found a Momo "runner" three spoke. Also known as a Momo "Club 3". They pop up every now and then on ebay. Very similar to a Porsche 930 wheel but less expensive.

The wheel MainePorsche showed is a "Club 4"

ANother option, depending on the color of your interior. NLA, though MOMO Fighter.

I had a wheel like the momo in the first picture, and it is wonderful. The other wheel that I've found wonderful is the OE Porsche one from the 930. I currently have that on my '89, and love it. Rare to find one used. I think Roger sells new ones ( 928sRus ).

Barney,
I have the same wheel as Voskian above. Our central rubber piece comes off so you can access the horn wheel wiring and the nut. His says Momo - mine is a Porsche insignia. I would choose this wheel over the Club 4.

Hey Bob, how are you ? Missed you at Owl's Head - have a big trans issue I'm trying to work through.

Barney,

We just fitted a "930" sport wheel to our '88s4, and like it a lot. Porsche offers a version of this wheel with the 928 hub, as mentioned Roger has them. Not cheap, though. We got ours used from 928 Int'l.

The Momo's are really nice, also. Be sure to get the correct hub or adapter for the 928.

Cheers, Jim

I like Paul Champagnes' work on customizing the Momo Club 3 as seen here...ooooh, that'd look nice in mine!

Here is a 930 wheel listed on eBay. Would probably need the 928 hub adapter, as is off a 911.
