Default oil leak location.

I just got done with an oil pan gasket replacement job and found oil sitting on the two bolts that hold the ac bracket to the engine. It also was running down into the pan. I really couldn't tell if the pan was leaking as well

I talked to Sean R snot the possibility of the oil coming from the tensioner bolt that ends in an oil galley.

(edit). I have a Porkensioner on the car, not the factory tensioner so no oil is leaking from the tensioner.

I took out the bolt and put blue rtv in the threads(not the end though) and buttoned everything back up

We will see if that did it.

Anyone have oil appear in these lots before and what was your cause?

I had the engine out two summers ago and put all new gaskets on the engine when I redid the head gaskets and replaced a piston.

I would suggest to use another type of sealant for sealing the bolt
Loctite PTFE non setting pipe sealant .

the oil will usually make the silicone soft.

there is a possibility that the both threads are leaking oil and the gasket for the tensioner is leaking oil
I like to use Hondabond 4 on the tensioner gasket,
and also use STP oil treatment to fill the tensioner as its thicker thus wont leak out as fast as thinner oils will

I forgot to mention that I have a Porkensioner so no oil leaking from the tensioner.

I'll take your advice Mr. Merlin and pull that bolt out again today and put the PTFE thread sealant on there.
