Default Central Warning light refresher

While I am shopping for a new to me 928 I am finding lots of interior shots with the car running and the Central Warning indicator light lit.

Is this because the door is probably open? or there really is a problem with the car?

Just trying to narrow my search and eliminate a whole bunch of cars straight away.

I do have my eye and heart set on a sweet 90 GT that is only exterior pics at the moment.

I just don't remember how my 78 car worked way back when. Although the system did work perfectly.

CWL will come on at start and stay on until the brake pedal is pressed.

It will also be on when the parking (hand) brake is on.

All in the Owners Manual.

Thanks but my owners manual went with the car in the factory plastic case when I sold the car 10 years ago. Sometime my old brain has trouble remembering these types of details.

Yep... lots of minor stuff could light it up... parking brake is on, low on gas, windshield washer fluid is low, brake light is out, etc. The CW system will be somewhat different on the 90 GT... lots more systems, ABS, etc... Best to ask lots of questions when the CWL is on. If they cant cancel it and it stays on then its a major system... walk away. When they say "oh, it just needs an adjustment the ABS sensor... or, it just needs this... or it just needs that..." Tell them to fix it and you'll come back... maybe Good luck with the purchase!!

You know a good car when you see and drive one.

Warning light is of little consequence. The Cliff's Notes version of above.

Joe, i remember what you were looking for and your price range, if you are seriously looking for a great early car:

Contact Mark Anderson Owner, 928 International.

He has the pristine '84S with 23K documented miles you are looking for. Nearly impossible to find a car like this.

Maybe you two can work out a deal.

I thought the white '84 only had a little over 5k on it.
