Difficult time for magazines. They are in limbo between printed copes and ebooks. Just looking at the Mags I get they are really getting thin in both articles and advertising.

I've too have noticed the thinning of magazines, mostly in the IT world. Car magazines aren't in as bad a shape, or so I thought.

I have an iPad but MUCH prefer reading real paper magazines. Just as I like reading real newspapers. Guess I'm an old fogey....

I think that's 'cuz the story is printed in the paper edition of R&T this month. (?) (Haven't seen this month's paper copy yet...)

What's Peter Egan gonna do if R&T goes TU?

I get R&T, but haven't seen it. I'll need to check.

I work for Hearst too, and have sent him an email internally asking permission to post the editorial and suggesting he visit here. If I get a reply I'll post.

I gave up on paper magazines when Autweek went to every two weeks. I'll occasionally pick up a copy of Grassroots Motorsport.

My main car media is this forum and Top Gear. I don't need much else.

Just finished reading it, pg 7. He wanted to buy a Ferrari F355 but the parts and service scared the livin' bejesus out of him. A friend offered him an S4 for $3500 so he bit. On pg 44 the 928 is mentioned again vis-a-vis its ability to go fast effortlessly. A trait they've apparently built into the new 911.

All in all, a pretty good issue. Long time R&T subscriber.

I agree that paper mags are in a bad scenario.......this is why many mags are moving towards video via youtube.....followed by the magazine......Motortrend is pretty ahead of the curve on this.....pretty much all of their top editors are followed by a camera crew on anything they do..... R&T must follow if they plan on surviving.....for example Motortrend is approaching 1 MILLION followers on Youtube....

Great point Ferrari vs. Porsche, again. The Pres. of the Austin Ferrari club has a 928 for his daily driver (a pretty nice '95 GTS in fact) ... he's even been out to one of our GTGs ...

Problem is, Motor Trend suck as a magazine. Has the move to new media made a difference in improving the quality of their product?

Wonder if he knows of the connection between R&T and Number 6?
