I just got mine from Porken about a week ago. They have me thinking of all the time I was under the car on just jack stands. I was literally risking my life each time. My car has never felt so secure while up that high. If shipping is prohibitive, I understand. But his are perfect.

I also have the Porken lift bars, it was the best investment for my 89. I believe he has a lighter version currently than the original lift bars and I second Rob Edwards comment.

Dollar for dollar, porken's liftbars are probably the best 928 investment you could have if you plan on working on your 928. They're safe, tested and reasonably priced. Furthermore, you'd be supporting the businesses that support the forum and the knowledgeable folks who contribute.

Very cheap at Harborfreight (no affliation)
  • Can be used to lift entire side, front or rear of vehicle
  • Adjusts from 28 in. to 37 in. wide

The problem with that one from HF is that it does not extend far enough to reach the lift points. On top of that very few really knows where the frame rail is along the sides of the car; and what is too often thought of as a frame rail is not - it is only a sheet metal hat-section welded there to stiffen the floor.
