Of course, maybe Germans didn't care about the whales and you could still get the good stuff over there?

I have three full qts of Pennzoil Hydra flo Dextron II. The cans look to be from the 70's. The number on top of the can is D21380. Anyone know if this will have the whale oil in them. I just want to know since I use them as a collectable and for conversation.

Thanks Mike for the good info - sounds like anything beyond original Dexron isn't suitable then.

Mike Simard that is one great looking motor and fuel injecion, Is there a thread on it?
Mike,
I did know that Dexron was originally a much different animal (excuse pun)
but figured it's basic lube abilities would remain close to the original.
Don't think i'll go 100% with it though now.
Question for the moderator:
Regarding adjustment of my US '83S clutch: i read the factory manual over and over to start with as soon as i got it home with the car.
I replaced my TO bearing lever ball pivot bushing, and carefully gapped the intermediate plate, blew all the dust out of the clutch assembly with compressed air and made sure the new slave cylinder had correct end play.
What else is there to adjustment? Did i miss anything?
It shifted much better and is very consistent in it's behavior now.
The ball pivot bushing was completely gone.
Clutch thickness was fine 60k doc'd miles, and the original owner had the entire clutch assembly updated in 1984 @ 3500 miles to the larger ball pivot and updated clutch pack. He did this before the car was a year old. I have all of his receipts. He spent a ton of money on the car, he even had the synchros replace at 8900 miles.
Thanks in advance,
BTW congrats on a 100k+ mile early 928 shifting smooth as silk.
You must be an excellent driver.
