Default Thunderhill Sat March 2nd!!!!!!

http://www.ncracing.org/events.php

NCRC is hosting an open track-DE day at Thunderhill next Saturday!!! I will be testing Casper in Open group and Petty Jr will be driving Dads racer in Solo....there is still a little room left...but not much....

Weather looks stunning, with highs in the mid 70's

I will arrive Friday afternoon for a few last minute adjustments and have the usual dinner at Casa Ramos Friday night (in the bar)....

I'm getting excited.....I haven't driven casper since OCTOBER.... I hope all the "improvements" work out as I hoped..... I have fresh tires lined up....weather is optimal..... my seat is installed, & sits about 2" lower than before....probably 20lbs lighter than before.....I am EXCITED......

Petty and Petty Jr will be there.....might have to drive Jr around in dads car a bit....hopefully I won't get black flags like last time :>( (I hate no open-racing passing rules)

I'm very excited, love to spend time with the drunkle and going to pick up a toy on the way. Ill just leave it at that until official. YES I do agree passing on straights rules suck but hey, just more seat time :>) can't wait to drive the 928 and let those horses run like they were made to:>)

Ill bring the go pros (two of them) And get some great shots and videos!!

Respect the learning process, and physics will respect you back.

Actually, what SUCKS, is racers that DONT KNOW HOW TO PASS.

Choose to be one of those people, or not.

Baby steps. Attempting to find "all shes got" will turn it into recyclable art. And because you dont know your comfort zones yet, you wont know its coming.

agreed.... when I was learning it was all about slow steps up to the limit.....I never wanted to push so much that I was well past "my" limit and could not recover..... I started off as a "stuck" driver....in that I rarely exceeded the tires traction limits.....probably started in braking by locking it up....then slowly learned how to control the car past the limit in the corners....but it takes TIME and lots of it.....confidence in the car is HUGE...for example I can push Casper much much harder than Seans 52....even on the exact same rims-tires....just because I KNOW my car... an example I gave to Ricky when I spun his dads car with Ricky in it....

bottom line....don't be in a hurry to go fast (checkbook racing)....pushing beyond your comfort limits is ALWAYS bad....drive as fast as you feel comfortable... Its all about raising your limits as a driver in what you feel comfortable with.... that is the goal!!! One day I will be like Ken....comfortable in a 740HP beast!!!!!!
