Color options available for them were same as for '93 MY cars.

Yes, Raspberry Red was technically a '93 special color but mine and one other '94 got it anyway.

Do you know what models these 19 were? I know of the three US 94 turbo's and I had seen a few 968's that have surfaced. Any additional info would be appreciated. My car was one of the last M718 coded turbos. There were a lot of odd things that happened back then. There are some similarities in colors that were no longer listed but showed up on some US 94 MY cars. Although my 1994 dealer sales guide shows cobalt as being an option none of the paperwork other than what PCNA released shows it as being current for 94.

M718 cars were done before normal model year change. They are basically previous model year cars where just and only VIN is for new MY. Everything else is old stuff and cars were made same time when earlier MY cars were still made for ROW markets. Factory simply couldn't use new colors as they didn't know what they would be in future. Same goes with new MY parts like wheels etc. MY change was done usually during factory summer vacation between July and August. M718 cars were done before this break. From legal point of view their manufacturing could start at January 1st.

In case of 19 '94 MY US GTS this means they were made in spring 1993 and had to have color from '93 or older MY list. Many basic colors like black were same before and after MY change so those are same except water based paints became available at the time and color can be same but its actual code is different. Out of 19 cars made some were oak green, amethyst etc which were dropped available colors list in summer '93/94 MY change point.

Tony.

Why do you ask?

Is there a 3rd project in-the-works?

Tony,

Here is a link for the clear you need. You need to order the correct associated hardener and reducer. Unless something has changed, I can beat that price by about a $100. I hope you go with the Glasurit clear as I feel you would be incredibly pleased by the result. 3.5L is going to be enough. Let me know how else I can be of service.

Sorry i misunderstood what you wrote previously. I know about the M718 code my turbo is one of the 266 out of 350 MY1994 turbos Porsche changed the vin on for the US turbo 3.6. When you mentioned 19 M718 coded cars and cobalt I thought you had specific info on what models were painted in cobalt and was trying to get a handle on if any more than the 3 US 94 turbos were painted in cobalt. Although I have a list of nearly 290 out of 350 US turbo3.6's there are still roughly 60 cars that are not accounted for.

In the case of the M718 cars I know all of the turbos and RSA's have previous MY engines. So in the case of my turbo the engine is a P code the Vin is an R code, I am assuming that goes for the 19 94 GTS as well.

That is odd. IIRC for the US there were only 2 tahoe blue cars. Maybe someone can check the registry. Tahoe looks great on these cars. My third favorite blue after cobalt and iris.

BTW can't edit an old post but since I posted we learned only 335 stock 94 turbos were imported to the US.
