Kempf tool & flywheel lock tool to borrow/rent in Toronto area?

Tool
I have both and i'm in Scarborough. I would recommend the porkensioner however. Installed like a dream, works great and no adjusting.
Drop me a message if you want to borrow mine. I also have the cam gear timing tools, you may find you end up replaceing more than just the belt as all of my gears were worn out, oil pump, crank and both cam gears.
I just finished so I may be able to geive you some hints.

Sounds like there are enough of us in the greater Toronto area that someone should organize a wrenching day. I just wish it wasn't so cold right now...

I would love to have a wrenching day! I'm planning on doing my MM and OPG as well, so it would be great to see it done by someone who knows what they are doing, and I would be more than happy to get my hands dirty as well. In fact, that is what i prefer. And hey, if someone were crazy/generous enough to want to guide me with my TB/WP job, I would lavish them with beer and pizza and pretty much anything else they might ask for. You would also be able to sleep easy knowing that you prevented a few ulcers and panic attacks on my end.
In all honesty, I'm looking forward to meeting all of my 928 neighbours sometime soon! I envy all of the get-togethers that those guys in the States have.

I too, envy all the get-togethers we hear about in the States.
I also have the MM/OPG on my radar for this season as well as the TB/WP job (i hope).I will do whatever i can to help support a wrenching party.
Would be great to have either of these jobs done to my car with experienced hands, but i would be more than happy to just see/learn from watching the procedures done to whomever's shark.
Hope this gathering happens...kinda stoked thinking it might!
Cheers,

Hi Toronto Area 928 owners. i did a search and found this thread. I am a recent 928 owner and now I am working on the first big job: timing belt and water pump.
I am looking to borrow or buy the flywheel lock tool, and will need to rent/borrow the large socket wrench "Remove crankshaft bolt. It should be torqued to 218 ft/lbs." as noted in the how to document by Jeffrey Bausch - March 31, 2015.
Any ideas?
Beyond this, I'm looking to be in the company of other 928 owners locally and would welcome sharing thoughts/ideas/helping hands.

You can get the socket at any Canadian Tire or at Princess Auto. They are cheap. I'm in the middle of a timing belt job and will need my locking tool soon. However if we can coordinate when exactly you will need it, I can let you use it and the Kept tool too. However, I'm an hour away and since I don't work in Brampton anymore, you would need to come to me for them.

Ken,
Join up as a member and put the year of your car in the Sig.
I've got a locking tool, but it might not fit your year.
The required torque on the bolt isn't the issue......it's the insane torque required to get it out that's the issue. That's probably why Imre's not doing loans on these bits. I screwed up his power bar getting my crank bolt loose the first time. (Replaced).
If you haven't yet, get a copy of "THE" Moorehouse CD from Rodger. and read everything that Dwayne (Dwayne's Garage) has written on the topic. Once you're sitting comfortably, then we'll begin.
Take two aspirin and call me in the morning.
Wait a sec....you have a car designed for the Autobahn and Imre's place is too far?
Oh Oh.
Best,
Rob.

I have both early and late style locks. I will need that late style lock come January. I'm in Burlington, your welcome to borrow the lock for December.
The 27mm socket is also used for the steering wheel so good to have one. Another good item is a 4-1 torque multiplier from Princess, it makes getting the crank bolt off a piece of cake.
Welcome to the tank.
Oh and PM me your email. I maintain a southern Ontario sharks email list, for events etc.
