Default Parts Galore! Ready for a 928 Party!

Just got a huge parts shipment from Roger for a TB/WP/Gear change!

Brand new Cam Gears
Gates Timing Belt
Oil Pump Gear
Accessory Belts
Porkentensioner
New Gaskets and seals...
Waterpump
Beer (not shown)

Roger's new gears look amazing. All I need to do is stop by Sears to pick up a breaker bar and some other tools.

Anyone selling a PK timing tool?

Now I'm waiting for the weather to warm up to work on my baby, an early '86 32V Auto.

Roger ships beer! I have PK32V'r, not for sale, but would be willing to lend it out if that helps. Won't have access to it for another month or so though.

Yea, buy two cam gears, get a case for free! (Just kidding, beer is local XD)

Hey Simon, thanks. I'll PM you if I can't buy/borrow one from a local here in Maryland. Once I've got her all sorted I'm looking to do all the same mods you have on your '85.

How does she run with chips and the x-pipe? Off the line, acceleration, top end speed? Of course I know 928s are not real quick off the line, doesn't keep me from asking though XD

That parts list and your plans sure sound familar! Just throw in a top end refresh for good measure!

Re your question about upgrades, I did: , x pipe, cat and air pump delete, 87 FPR, cleaned stock injectors, recalibrated MAF, new plugs and seat of pants feel is much faster! No hard numbers, just feels faster and better throttle response.

Only thing I'm not satisfied with is that it does sound a little "trucky" at the exhaust. If that makes any sense? I plan on getting the newest upgrade on chips soon, also adjusting auto trans for better accelaration, and smoother shifts.

You will like though.

Hey fraggle,

I'm thinking sometime in March perhaps? I think it should be warm enough then for a weekend job. I definitely plan on hitting up some 928 meets in the DMV to get to know the local talent more since I'll be asking you guys for help

Top end refresh has already been done by my mechanic when I got her from my dad. When I saw the bill, I decided to do all the work myself after that. Thanks for the information. I get what you're saying, I plan on keeping the air pump and getting high flow cats from Roger with the x-pipe. I don't want her too loud like those supercharged trucks (though I do think they sound sweet). I'd rather keep a semi-low profile with sound, then again that V8 sound alone makes people turn heads.

I've got to work on the auto transmission as well, though I wish I had enough money to buy one of those new ATs that Greg has!
