I could see a portable light stand with a quality suction cup for mounting. It could be be stuck to the headlight and adjusted directly at the front of engine. I suppose we would have to cut out the fender protector around the light as I think more. It could also stick on winsheild, side windows for working in door panels and open the sunroof and mount it on top facing in at dash area. I belive suction mount would be the best but prone to damaging the car if not strong. It would have to be battery powered which would add that damaging weight factor.

After replacing dozens of bulbs in my trouble light I used an LED bulb. It has outlasted the incandescent bulbs.

I've seen a friend use one of these:

Magnet for use on steel, "kickstand" for use on the floor, head swivels and stays in place. Nice and bright. Not too big.
