OCIC in Canada
Folks.....we have the opportunity to host an OCIC event in Western Canada (not confirmed but probably close to Calgary, AB) in 2014.
As the distance from our larger 928 cities in the US is vast and the need to cross an international border with a passport I was hopeful we could guage attendance well in advance with a simple poll.
We fully appreciate the OCIC 2013 event in Grand Junction may (with Witchita in 2012) and Canada in 2014 consumes many precious vacation days and funds.
Appreciate your inputs.....Malcolm

Splendid idea but unfortunately I would not have an opportunity to drive all the way there and back . Do love Canada in the summertime, one of the best getaways for us roasted Texans ...
Maybe Vancouver/Whistler would be close enough to draw some NW 928s to drive in?

I would attend a Calgary OCIC for sure.
I would not recommend whistler for OCIC, but I would recommend Vancouver for an OCIC if Calgary doesnt pan out.
The one problem with AB is how flat it is. The benefit is that it rarely rains.

I would fly up there, but driving would not be possible due number of vacation days required. Mapquest says it's almost 2000 miles from my house to Calgary!! That's 28 hours of driving, one way.....
Like Tom says, have it in July or August so we can escape the frying pan for a few days!!

The weather & scenery would be just great (and the hostpitality too I'm sure).
I wonder if the distances (and time) just make it impractical for most to do with car - and that thats the whole point right... if too may show up without cars (or not at all) .. just wouldn't be the same...
Personally I would consider it - its a straight shot north - bit too much freeway and not so many other convenient options - but still some interesting stuff to see/do on the way...
