Any interest in a 928 engine stand adapters?

Three Wheelin'
Do the arms have to be round tube? If not, they
could be cut using a CNC plasma cutter out of
plate. Would be heavier but lots of shops could
make them.

It looks like I need to find another shop to get these done. My normal guys are backed up, and most of the other local people dont want to bend the arms.
I got a high quote from one my backup guys for $400/part but he wanted to just machine everything instead of using tubes.

Hans:
Rob Edwards bought a factory Yoke from Andial, when they closed their shop, a couple of weeks ago.
I'd sure like to get a couple. I've not read this entire thread, so I don't know exactly what you plans are. Are you planning on making any of these exactly like the original?
BTW....my waterjet/lazer guy also has a CNC bender.....if you need any help/another bid on the pieces.

Greg,
I have a factory yoke here, and have it drawn in CAD, so it would be easy to have the factory tool reproduced. If you have a fab shop you would reccomend, I would gladly send them a print package for bid.
I ran across a fab shop at the Hot Rod an Restoration Trade Show a couple weeks ago. They do a lot of 'Murican tubular suspension replacement bits, but run a full service fab shop as well, and said they would bid the job. I think they were in South Carolina, his card is on my desk.
I have an R2 engine I want to rebuild, so want to get some of these knocked out soon. I really want to use that new engine stand, I think the geared rotation would be a game changer.
BTW, if Rob didnt get the flywheel lock tool, I have that drawn in CAD as well.
Thanks
Hans

Well, sometimes things just hit you.
While going back through the thread, I thought of a way to redesign this part so it all can be cut from flat stock. I will try and get this design implemented today. Taking a page from flat-pack design, I will make the "arms" with tabs that will locate in the bell housing flange and stand mounting flange. It will hold together like a puzzle while being welded.
I can just take the bits to a local welder I use, problem solved.
Thanks
Hans

I thought about this again on friday, but didnt have a chance to take drawings over to the print shop. Only way I know to test/check these drawings to is to print 1:1 and lay the factory tool and bellhousings on the print. I dont have a large enough printer in-house to do this part, so I have to send it off to the architectual print shop downtown who is capable of printing native CAD drawings.
I have been tied up finishing up another concept, which I will post shortly.
Thanks

I'd like to have at least one...... If someone has a design, the fabricators who built both my 928 racers have a connection to a shop that builds their miata roll bars for a great price with great quality... Might be worth getting a quote to see if its cost effective?

I can get a print package together for bid, or send a model.
I have been trying to get the GTS-4 put together for SITM, so not been keeping up on the side projects.
