Having issues with power door locks. Just having had the door panels off what I will describe may be self inflicted. Here is what is happening:
*Sitting in car with both doors unlocked; press lock button and driver door locks, passenger door does not lock, and red light indicating doors locked lights up. Press door lock button again and driver door unlocks, red light goes off.
*Outside car, turn key in drivers door and the lock engages for a second, then pops back up; passenger door does not lock.
*Outside car, turn key in passenger door and both doors lock, alarm lights come on. Again on passenger door, turn key to unlock, passenger door unlocks and alarm sounds. Drivers door remains locked; turn key in drivers door and door unlocks and alarm goes off.
Help

I had almost exactly the same problem a few weeks ago.
It started with the sub zero temperatures in the UK in recent weeks. I eventually managed to establish the problem as a mechanical one. The cold had distorted the door card on the passenger door enough to stop the button moving fully up and down. A bit of lubrication and everything's fine again.

Remove door panels and check wiring, connectors and mechanical movement of parts. Before reassembling ensure you lubricate all moving parts with suitable lubricant.
Check operation of door locks before reinstallation of door panels and also ensure no wiring will be "jammed" when you reinstall door panels.

before you remove the door panel,
the other thing to check is if you have screwed the the locking **** surround on too tight,
try loosening it 1/4 turn this can cause the housing the bind and the motor worn overcome the friction

I had the same issue after replacing my driver's side broken door handle. I believe the cause of my issue was that I ended up with one door locked and one door unlocked when I reconnected everything. They came out of synch. Mine appears to be working correctly after disconnecting the battery ground and making sure both doors were in the same locked condition when I reconnected the ground.

I've experienced the effect of putting on the lock **** surround too tight ... everything was working before and all of sudden the door locking system goes wonky ... just another charming 928 oddity ...

I believe I have tried every combination of doors locked/unlocked, disconnecting ground and then reattaching, etc. with no luck. No signs of broken wire(s). Pulled radio out, checked back of door locking switch, all looks OK. Disconnected and reconnected the connector for the door lock switch, all looks OK. Any other ideas or areas to focus on???

Mine had broken wires for the window motors that I couldn't locate until I cut open the sheathing where the wire is inside the door. Carefully flex each wire and see if there appear to be any places where they try to kink or bend sharply. This will be where the conductor is broken inside the insulation. Once I found all three breaks inside the insulation and repaired them my power windows worked perfectly.
Hope this helps.
