New Product: 928 Wiring Harnesses to be added to our product lines
#16
I've been looking for those for a long time and had no luck either Carl. BTW, the quality on these harnesses is top notch. Well done.

Thank you Sean!
I've sent it on to my contact at Porsche - lets see what they might come back with.
The only other OEM connector we cannot seem to get is the rubber 3-wire oil pressure sender connector. But for that, we have a work-around. No work-around for this timing belt tensioner connector as yet.

News from Stuttgart:
Current inventories on 928 Engine Wiring Harnesses, all of them are at zero inventory
(not discontinued, just none in stock and no known date expected)
EXCEPT:
1988 model PN 928-607-002-15, there are 5 left in Germany.
Club Sport PN 928-607-002-16, there is 1 in Germany.
We're still making them though, so if you need one for your 928 - just let me know.
The engine wiring harness often is involved in the "my alternator doesn't charge" problem, among other things. As the exciter wiring for the alternator becomes corroded and gains impedance, the alternator charges less and less.... check yours.

How did the warning connector part work out? Is it a crimp or pigtail?
Last time I was looking for one I think I found some short extension type cable using them, but didn't follow it up due to the pigtail and splice issue. (part #20 I guess in Bill's diagram).

Found previous thread on the connector, looks like its about a six inch pigtail with maybe a spade on the other end.

Works for both the antenna and the timing belt warning connection.

Or, they will be bumped to the NLA list.
I have found that when they are on "manufacturing back-order" they are on the bubble, and can go either way.
Personally, I hope they make them again. And they might, because they fit more than one car. So, here's to hopin'!

All about numbers. They can't possibly make any profits making these old parts. I'm grateful they are making as many as they are still.
